After getting bored with the suggestions, I switched the filter to show me the most popular photos only to get this:
No photo could be retrieved using the current method. Please choose another one and then click on the 'next photo' arrow... Huh? There's no popular photos to show? Absurd... comments (4):

But I had logged in for the first time in months, and it was the first time using that feature - and it had no photos to show. I've tried again now, and I only got a couple photos before it apparently ran out. Why doesn't it go to the next most popular?

it is not absurd;
it means simply that you have already seen the photos that Photoree had as "popular" at that time.
you can try again later as new "popular" photos emerge...
